Bikram Yoga
Doing Bikram Yoga is an excellent and powerful experience. It is practiced at a temperature of 105 degrees. Because of the nature of this Yoga, you must dress in as minimal clothing as possible in order to do the practice properly. Ensure that your clothing does not make you perspire, because you will sweat anyhow. Your performance will depend on the attire you are in.
It is best not to wear sweats when going for these exercises. Half-sleeved T-shirts and shorts are fine as opposed to long sleeved shirts and track bottoms. The best material that you can possibly wear is cotton. Thin cotton. It absorbs the perspiration that your body releases and also does not stick to your body tightly allowing you to perform your Yoga asanas and movements with ease and comfort. Depending on the location where the Bikram Yoga classes are taking place, decide on the attire you will be wearing. Try to wear as minimal clothing as possible. It is like going to the seaside on a very hot day. You will look for shade and a cool drink. Except here you will be performing rigorous workouts and will be exposed at a constant temperature of 105 degrees. It is best to dress less!
If you have long hair carry hair bands with you. It is normal to wear head bands also during Bikram Yoga workouts. The sweat released by your scalp increases the weight of your hair making it very difficult to control. Here the hair bands help. The head band assists in soaking up the excess perspiration.
When deciding what to wear to these classes choose something that will allow your skin to be well ventilated. It is important for your skin to breathe during the workouts otherwise you will feel uncomfortable and will not b able to finish the session. There are some items that you will be required to take to these Yoga sessions, they are as follows:
1) Yoga mat
2) Towel
3) Sweat band
4) Anti-persperants
5) Non-stick Yoga mat covers.
If you prefer going to your Yoga classes wearing sandals it is best to keep your socks at home too, because the socks will only make you slip and fall on your Yoga mat, making it extremely tough for you go through the Yoga session. Dressed appropriately having with you the right gear, there is every reason you will succeed in Bikram Yoga.
